SCNZ was asked to develop a master plan proposal to transform this Katrina damaged building into a truly Unitarian Church complex - open to the community, responsible to the environment, and providing a variety of spaces for individual and group learning and growth. SCNZ proposed the usage of over 22 LEED techniques including passive and active solar heating, rainwater collecting cisterns, high-efficiency lighting and appliances, and green roofs. Should this reconstruction be LEED certified, it would rank a "silver" level project.
