New Orleans, LA
This Multi-Use Center, designed in keeping with the aesthetic of the historic Jackson Barracks campus, includes two buildings. The first building houses the military museum, and a 300 seat state-of-the-art theater, each flanking the central courtyard. Other spaces include the base library, exhibit restoration facilities, exhibit storage, and administrative offices. The second building houses the barracks post-exchange (PX) and a casual café. The facilities were designed using sustainable materials & high efficiency building systems, while the use of clerestory windows and orientation of fenestration allow for diffuse daylighting in the interior spaces.
